According to Nigerian artist Divine Ikubor, losing his father at a young age had a profound impact on his thinking.
He claimed that before his father's death, when he realized the value of family, he didn't take life seriously.
This was said by the "Calm Down" singer during an appearance on Shopsydoo's Afrobeats podcast.
"To be honest, losing my dad shaped me," Rema remarked. It affected how I felt and thought, you know.I would say that at one point in time, I was quite colorful. I was humorous, jovial, and carefree. I didn't start taking life seriously till my father passed away. And it merely reveals various aspects of people. It merely demonstrates the value of family. The ones you are closest to may fight and argue with you, but you never know when you won't see them again. "For my dad, my dad used to call me a soldier."
